The Organization Guide: Clean File Naming
The Adiminium Bulk Renamer is your digital filing clerk. Anyone who has unloaded a camera knows the pain of seeing `DSC_0001.jpg`, `DSC_0002.jpg`. This tells you nothing about the image content, and it's terrible for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
Why Rename Images?
- SEO: Google cannot see images. It reads filenames. `Tokyo-Tower-Sunset.jpg` is infinitely better than `IMG_9923.jpg` for appearing in search results.
- Client Handoff: Delivering files named `ClientName_Final_01.jpg` looks professional. Delivering `Screen Shot 2023-10-12 at 10.45.11.png` looks messy.
- Sorting: Operating systems sort by name. By using a consistent prefix and number system, you ensure your photos stay in the correct chronological order.
Naming Patterns
Our tool supports dynamic pattern generation:
- Prefix: The core identifier. e.g., "Wedding_Sarah_Mike_".
- Iterator (Number): The counter. e.g., "001". We handle the leading zeros automatically so "01" sorts before "10".
- Suffix: Optional add-ons. e.g., "_edit" or "_print".
Workflow Example
You have 50 photos from a hiking trip.
1. Upload them all.
2. Set Pattern: "Yosemite_Hike_".
3. Set Start: "1".
4. Result in ZIP: "Yosemite_Hike_1.jpg", "Yosemite_Hike_2.jpg"...
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it change the file content?
No. We do not re-compress or modify the image data at all. We simply copy the file blob into a new container with a new name string.
